It can be used to seal water, air and gas from leaking through threaded connections. Commonly known as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), many plumbers use premium teflon tape due to the strength that is designed to coat the threads of pipes to create a tighter seal. PTFE tape is weather resistance and has an extremely flexible working temperature range. Teflon high density tape is to make better seal between plumbing parts. When applying teflon tape in a clockwise direction, keep on applying until it is snug. Teflon tape comes in a number of different sizes of width and length. Usually the 3/4 inch x 520 inch tape used by professional plumbers varies, it is the most versatile. Raven teflon tape was designed to be small enough for little repairs, but wide enough to repair longer tubes. This tape is effective in temperatures from -450°F to 500°F (-268°C to +260°C) and pressures up to 10,000 PSI.
